Art week has been a huge success! Classes have been learning about different artists, trying out new techniques and finally displaying their work in a gallery for our community.
Our designated art team have completed their project, focusing on our school values.
The River Thames - Responsibility
The Chilterns - Respect
Red Kite - Resilience
The Jungle Book
The finishing touches are going on for the Year 5/6 end of year production. Today saw the cast perform their final full dress rehearsal before their first performance next Wednesday afternoon. All of the children have been working so hard and we can’t wait to share it with you all. Below are some cast shots from today.
Early Years Olympics
On Wednesday 28th June Years 5 and 6 designed and led the Early Years olympics for Rainbow Day Nursery, Robins and Hedgehogs. The children were amazing in their roles and we had so many grown ups comment on their excellent behaviour and support towards the younger children. Well done Eagles - gold for all!!
Sports Hall Athletics Tournament at Icknield
On Wednesday 25th January, some of our year 5/6 children went to Icknield to take part in a Sports Hall Athletics tournament. Four local schools took part and I am so pleased to say that we won the entire event! The children were incredibly skilled and showed some brilliant sportsmanship. Please take a look at our photos below - I like to think they are so blurry because the children were moving too quickly for me to take a good photo of them! We definitely have some future Olympians here...!
Well done Eagles, you were all amazing

KS1 Windsor Castle Trip
What a fantastic day of learning to finish the year 1 topic on Kings and Queens and year 2 topic on castles! The children grasped every opportunity and soaked up everything including a very close up experience of the Changing of the Guard. Crowning a 'new' king was certainly a highlight for year 1!
Reading Cafe Term 2
We held our second Reading Cafe after school on Friday. Once again, it was a really well attended with event with parents and children engaging with teacher story time, our school libraries, sharing books together over a cup of tea and cake and buying books from our sale. It was fantastic to see children leading story telling too with excellent expression and engaging tone-they really entertained the younger children! We look forward to the next event in term 4...watch this space!
Baking for the School!
We are thrilled to announce our first baking for the school event today. In conjunction with Al and Kitty from The Orange Bakery, some of the year 5 bakers have prepared and baked focaccia for the whole school to enjoy at lunch! Truly delicious, nutritious and home baked-the beginning of regular baking here at school to compliment our school lunches.
Year 5/6 Football Tournament
On Monday 14th November, Watlington hosted a friendly football tournament with Ewelme and Lewknor. The team (who had never played a match as a team before!) won their first match 6 - 0! The second match was much harder and they unfortunately lost 2 - 0 to a very strong team. I was so proud of all the children who participated; they showed great teamwork skills and represented our school brilliantly. A massive thank you to Mr Challis for refereeing the matches! Hopefully, this will be the first of more tournaments and sports matches against other schools.
Well done team!
