Chess

Chess is an effective and affordable game that everyone can access.  It can be used as an educational intervention, promoting key academic and social skills that children will use throughout their lives.

 

The game helps pupils to think logically and solve problems, it develops sportsmanship and resilience and it teaches children to plan ahead and take responsibility for their actions.  

 

Our club is open to pupils from Year 3 and above.  If you are interested in joining, please contact the office.  

We attended our first chess tournament, against Botley Primary School on Friday. The club did a fantastic job representing the school, being responsible and showing true resilience.

Students from ICC chess club came to play today!

They were impressed with our high standards.
