Nursery

Nativity week☃️🎅 Robins did an excellent job preforming our nativity to their families we hope you all enjoyed it! Robins have also been to the Christmas tree festival at St Leonard’s church. I’m sure they’d love to show you around the trees and to spot the decorations they made, so please do take a visit before Saturday😁

Christmas is in full swing in Robins class. We have enjoyed reading The Gingerbread Man story and turned our home corner into The Gingerbread house! The children made lolly pops, candy canes and sweets for the roof! We’ve had the glitter and glue out to make special cards for our families and been practising writing our names. The children have been amazing rehearsing for the Nativity play next week and cannot wait to perform for you. Have a lovely weekend!

This week we’ve been getting ready for Christmas!!🎅 Robins have enjoyed making their Christmas wishes and hanging them on our advent tree. Robins have also enjoyed having a picnic in our spaceship whooshing to the moon. Some children have enjoyed exploring the diggers and bricks in the sand building houses. Have a lovely weekend! 😁

Robins have been practising their cutting skills this week. Learning how to cut along the strips of paper following the different patterns. It was very tricky, but they persevered and have got better as the week has gone on.

Tuesday was so exciting, ☃️☃️we all loved playing in the snow, building little snowmen and making  snow angels.

Christmas Dates

This week Robins have been busy making fruit rockets, exploring different tastes and textures. We’ve also been making poppies out of lose parts learning all about Remembrance Day. Robins have been story mapping our book ‘Whatever Next’ sequencing and reciting the story.

Welcome back to Term 2!

Our story this term is Whatever Next. The children have been really busy helping to turn our home corner into a Space Rocket! They have made their own control panel with lots of buttons ready for blast off.
We have been dressing up as Astronauts and counting down from 5 to 1 then blasting off to space.

We have also been building rockets with the wooden blocks, comparing sizes, using words such as tall, taller and tallest.

Last week of Term!
This week we went for a little walk to the Allotments to visit our friends Kirsty and Josh. They dug up some of their vegetables for us to see and we also planted some new seeds. We can’t wait to go back in a few months to see how they’ve grown.
We all had lots of fun going on the allotment hunt looking for the items on our list. I think we found them all and we also spotted a few pumpkins too.

Hope you all have a relaxing Half Term!

This week we have enjoyed exploring what’s inside pumpkins and how they feel, toast cafe learning how to use knives safely while spreading our butter and strengthening our core muscles with the balloons.

We have been exploring in Forest School this week!  Finding natural materials to build a house for our Pigs. The children used sticks, leaves and mud to create their homes.

We also had a surprise visitor in the playground too!  A Hedgehog! The children knew they had to be quiet so they didn’t frighten it.  We made a phone call to Tiggywinkles to get advice and ended up taking it to them to be looked after.

Another busy week in Robins class!
We have explored different ways of mark making. The children have used chalk, pens, paint and even shaving foam which was messy but fun!

Curriculum Evening Presentation Sep, 24

This week we have had lots of fun learning about The Three Little Pigs. We’ve worked together as a team building our brick house, using our imaginations reenacting the story together and printing bricks for our very own brick house.

It has been a busy first week in Robins class. The children have been learning new routines, making new friends and exploring inside and outside as well as a visit to our Forest School.

A great big WELCOME to our new starters in Robins class and of course a welcome back to our older Robins!

We will update this page weekly and share photos of our activities.
