Year 6 had a fantastic time celebrating World Book Day! The children came to school dressed as their favourite book characters, and it was wonderful to see so many creative and colourful costumes. From classic heroes to magical characters, the classroom was full of imagination and excitement. As part of our celebrations, we focused on our class novel, Goodnight Mister Tom. The children designed their own brand-new book covers, thinking carefully about the themes, setting and characters in the story.

Another highlight of the day was when Year 6 had the chance to read with Year 3. Our pupils showed fantastic responsibility and kindness as they shared stories together. It was lovely to see the older children helping the younger ones enjoy reading and talking about their favourite books.

To finish our celebrations, the class worked together to design ideas for a brand new reading corner. The children came up with brilliant suggestions to make the space cosy, inviting and full of books we love.
