This term, Year 6 have been exploring the bold and colourful world of Pop Art, taking inspiration from the famous artist Roy Lichtenstein. Known for his comic book style, Ben-Day dots, and dramatic use of primary colours, Lichtenstein’s work was the perfect springboard for our creative project.

After studying his techniques, Year 6 turned their attention to the novel Wonder by R.J. Palacio, a story that celebrates kindness, individuality, and seeing the world through different perspectives. Combining these two ideas, the children created striking Pop Art portraits of characters from Wonder, including Auggie, Via, and Summer.
